Free Ride to Cooling Centers – Jul 2-7, 2024

17:01 PM

The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for the Yolo County region beginning July 2 at 11:00 AM PDT until July 6 at 8:00 PM PDT. We advise that all riders take the necessary precautions in order to ride safely. Some tips to stay safe during excessive heat include:

  • Stay Informed – Sign up for text/email alerts on your ride at Yolobus.com/GetAlerts
  • Stay Hydrated – Drink plenty of water before leaving your home and bring extra water with you. Refill when possible.
  • Bring Sun Protection – Use sunscreen to protect your skin from harmful UV rays.
  • Dress appropriately – Wear a hat, sunglasses, and light-colored, loose-fitting clothing to stay cool.
  • Be mindful of your health – Know the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke (dizziness, nausea, headache, rapid heartbeat, confusion). If you start feeling unwell, alert the driver or a fellow passenger, and get off at the next stop to seek shade and hydration.
