Stay Cool, Ride free on Yolobus Fixed Route Services (except 138) from July 10-12

The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning for the Yolo County region beginning July 10 at 11:00 AM PDT until July 12 at 8:00 PM PDT. Due to this excessive heat, Yolobus fixed route services (except RT 138) will be free starting July 10 until July 12.

Yolobus vehicles are air conditioned and most will stop at or near designated cooling centers in the region. To locate a cooling center near you, please visit bit.ly/YoloCoolingCenters. If you need help finding the best route to get to the cooling center from where you are, please call us at (530) 666-BUSS (2877).

We advise that all riders take the necessary precautions in order to ride safely. Some tips to stay safe during excessive heat include:

  • Stay Informed – Sign up for text/email alerts on your ride at Yolobus.com/GetAlerts
  • Stay Hydrated – Drink plenty of water before leaving your home and bring extra water with you. Refill when possible.
  • Bring Sun Protection – Use sunscreen to protect your skin from harmful UV rays.
  • Dress appropriately – Wear a hat, sunglasses, and light-colored, loose-fitting clothing to stay cool.
  • Be mindful of your health – Know the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke (dizziness, nausea, headache, rapid heartbeat, confusion). If you start feeling unwell, alert the driver or a fellow passenger, and get off at the next stop to seek shade and hydration.

Stay cool, stay safe, and let Yolobus help you navigate through this excessive heat period.
